Short Oil Non-Drying (98/60) is a high-viscosity, non-drying alkyd resin formulation characterized by a low oil content (approx. 30% or less) and high solids (around 60%). It is classified as "non-drying" due to its resistance to oxidation-based curing, making it ideal for systems requiring permanent flexibility, plasticity, or non-hardening properties. This resin is commonly based on phthalic anhydride and fatty acids but excludes drying oils, enabling compatibility with plasticizers, solvents, and other resin modifiers.
Typically supplied in 200 Kg industrial drums, this resin is used in the manufacture of sealants, mastics, cable compounds, printing inks, and industrial adhesives. Its chemical stability, tack retention, and moisture barrier function make it essential in moisture-resistant coatings and plastic formulations.
